For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of America: Eastern Tropical Atlantic: An elongated area of low pressure located several hundred miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands is producing a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms well to the east of its center. Further development of this system appears unlikely as the low moves slowly northward to north-northwestward and encounters stronger upper-level winds today and tonight. Regardless of development, heavy rainfall is expected to continue today across western portions of the Cabo Verde Islands with some flooding possible there. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent. * Formation chance through 7 days...low...10 percent.
